Jamaica holds a special place in my heart through shared family history.

I’ve been going to this magical island since 1979.

This part of Jamaica is very safe and the owners of Jakes Hotel and all the staff are warm and welcoming.

Treasure Beach isn’t a place to tick off your bucket list. Instead, it’s a timeless, authentic Jamaican experience you’ll want to return to again and again.

And I can’t wait to share my ‘happy place’ with you.

You bet! There’s tons of fun to be had…

Explore the rugged coastline by kayak. For free

Embark in epic boat excursion to “Pelican Bar” with Captain Joseph. It’s the “coolest bar in the world” floating in the middle of the sea!

After Pelican Bar, Captain Joseph can also arrange a Lobster cookout on a private beach only accessible by boat. It has a Robinson Crusoe vibe!

Hop on a bike with Damian for a guided farm tour.

Visit YS Falls Only a one hour drive away!

Immerse yourself in Jamaican vibes Ya Mon!

Nope US Dollars and credit cards are excepted everywhere.

There’s also an ATM on site for USD and Jamaican Currency.

Upon arrival a driver from Jakes Hotel will greet you at the common area once you clear customs.

They will have a Jakes Hotel sign.

The drive to Jakes from Montego Bay is about 2 hours and 50 minutes.

It’s a beautiful drive and in Jamaica they drive on the left side of the highway — which makes for a fun ride.

You are welcome to ask him to stop for food, drink or a bathroom break.

Scotchy’s Jerk Restaurant is a good halfway stop. They have delicious Jerk Chicken.

Yes!  Jakes accommodates all diets – Vegetarian, gluten-free – dairy-free, you name it they can make you something delisious.

You’ll have a $75 food credit that can be used for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Including drinks and alcohol.

I find it more than enough unless you indulge in expensive bottles of wine.

The extra you spend will just be charged to your account. This makes it super easy.

There are 2 main restaurants. Jakes Restaurant and Jack Sprat.

Check them both out here Dining at Jakes.

Jake’s works with local fishermen, local farmers and local chefs. The menu changes daily to reflect what’s fresh. Local food served by local people.

This area is considered the breadbasket of Jamaica. It’s where 80 percent of Jamaica’s domestic produce is grown.

The local fish and pasture raised meat are also locally sourced.

Jamaican cuisine is healthy and delicious. There are fresh smoothies, tropical fruits and vegetables galore.
